How can I help Wheels for the World?

Pray
Please pray for the work of Through the Roof, including Wheels for the World. Specific needs can be found on our prayer page, but we would value ongoing prayer for: the Steering Wheels team as they plan future distributions; Glenda, the Wheels for the World Coordinator who works tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the programme; all the volunteers involved in fundraising, speaking and offering practical help either in the UK or as team members on a distribution; the partner organisations overseas; the people whose lives have been transformed by the gift of a wheelchair, and those who are still in need of this valuable gift.

Serve
We need dedicated volunteers with a clear Christian faith. Team roles include physiotherapists, occupational therapists and mechanics who make minor adjustments to wheelchairs under the direction of therapists. Teams also include an administrator, a photographer and somebody to offer pastoral support and teaching. All team members fund themselves, usually with backing from their church, work colleagues and friends. Give
Consider holding a fundraising event on our behalf. Wheels for the World is financed by donations from churches, clubs and individuals - funds are needed for all aspects of the programme including wheelchair transport, container hire and equipment for the prison workshop.
