‘Spoke to the Bible college students in their devotional time then visited another potential partner involved in disability work. We allowed ourselves some free time for buying gifts then on to another orphanage to speak to the children who thanked us for doing work with disabled people. We were invited into several people’s homes in the slum area and prayed for them then got drenched in a torrential rainstorm before going on to our final church service where we again spoke about disability from the bible. Got back to the hotel by 9.00pm to eat and pack.’ - MON 20th AUGUST 2007
‘Very hectic day. Visited the Faith hospital and prayed for people, then on to the computer college and assessed the potential site for wheelchair distribution. Had lunch with potential partners involved in disability ministry. Visited a local supplier who makes handcycles then on to a productive meeting with World Vision India who are interested in partnering with us.’ - SUN 19th AUGUST 2007
‘1st church service at 8.00am with communion, followed by 2 others at which we spoke to the congregation about disabled people from a biblical perspective. Our hosts treated us to a nice lunch then we visited St Thomas’ Mount then on to an orphanage where we spoke to the children about the ‘Through the Roof’ bible story and the Great Banquet.’ - SAT 18th AUGUST 2007
‘Travelled for 13 hours by overnight train to arrive in Chennai with its heat and mad traffic. Rushed straight to a meeting with over 100 disabled people plus 150 others. We spoke to them about disability from the bible and gave out bibles and 5 handcycles. Spent the afternoon with Pastor Paul and his family and then visited Chennai’s beach where 70 people lost their lives in the tsunami.’ - FRI 17th AUGUST 2007
‘Still hot. Good meetings re wheels yesterday and today. Up and down emotions re education programme. Vision is right and the need is there, but need prayer for the right decision. Busy schedule and more to come in Chennai tomorrow.’ - THUR 16th AUGUST 2007
