The DCF Cruise Holiday
It was a busy Saturday on the roads towards Southampton as 36 members of Disabled Christians Fellowship travelled from various areas of the country, to board The Independence of the Seas for a Mediterranean Cruise. Planned to celebrate the 50th Birthday of DCF this was to be a very special time away together, for some a holiday they never dreamt they could every take part in.
The time away did not disappoint us. The liner had 14 decks, a shopping mall, ice rink, theatre, and table tennis, clock golf, climbing wall and numerous swimming pools and free ice cream all the time! Off the boat was as exciting as on, as we visited seven places and three countries along the way. Every day was full with activity; meals were plentiful and served by an army of helpful and understanding waiters, evenings offered visits to the theatre or to see an ice show, and of course whilst sailing the shops were all open for us to spend our money! The souvenir shop attracted many, supplying gifts from fridge magnets to computer mice! All to ensure our time on Independence of the Seas would never be forgotten. It proved a worthy celebration of 50 years of DCF.
