Donating Used Wheelchairs to Wheels for the World
After several generous years of free storage, we’re sad to announce that we’re no longer able to keep wheelchairs at Storage King in Epsom. We’ve cleared everything out, and – following some clever packing and stacking – found ways to store all the chairs at the Wheels Aldershot warehouse. Please don’t drop anything at Storage King now! They can’t store or accept anything for us, and your journey may be wasted. The warehouse is now the only place to drop off wheelchairs, so if you’re looking to donate items to Wheels, please get in touch with the office on 01372 749955 and we’ll arrange for someone to be there to meet you. We currently have nowhere for wheelchairs to be left out of hours.
We can accept, and would love to have… children’s wheelchairs; wheelchair cushions; manual collapsible wheelchairs (self-propelling – with large rear wheels); crutches (in pairs and undamaged); walking sticks; undamaged folding walkers (three or four wheel) buggies; straps and harnesses; and gaffa tape. We’re only able to repair wheelchairs, so if there’s any damage or bending to crutches or folding walkers, we unfortunately can’t take them.
Due to limited space, we regret that we can’t accept any wheelchairs that don’t fold down; standing frames or zimmerframes; assisted-propelling wheelchairs (the ones with the small rear wheel); electric wheelchairs; other books; medical equipment; orthotic equipment; broken equipment; blankets; positioning equipment; or children’s toys. We’re always happy to answer queries about donations, so please get in touch before dropping anything off, and we’ll be happy to advise you.
