Through the Roof are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of anyone having dealings with the Charity. This includes, for example, supporters, stakeholders, or third parties contacting us for information. The purpose of this statement is to set out how we use any personal information that we may obtain from you.

Data Protection Act 1988

We are registered under the Data Protection Act and comply with the Act in all our dealings with your personal data.

Use and collection of personal information

In general you can visit our website without telling us who you are and without revealing any information about yourself. If you wish to join any of the Forums you will need to register and you will be asked to provide an active email address. This is for activation only.

For our supporters and stakeholders we keep the minimum of information so as to enable the efficiency of our services and comply with current legislation. This data will be stored in different media, on computer and in paper form.

We may also use information that you provide:

• For assessment and analysis e.g. marketing.
• Stakeholder analysis.
• To review, develop and improve our services.

Any collection of data using Through the Roof equipment remains the property of Through the Roof and must not be removed from the control of the Charity.

Cookies

A cookie is an element of data that a website can send to your browser which may then store it on your system. Through the Roof does not use cookies. If you wish, you can usually adjust your browser so that your computer does not accept cookies. This will not affect your access to the services provided by Through the Roof.

Security

We endeavour to take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information. However, we cannot guarantee the security of any data that you disclose online, via email, and we will not be responsible for any breach of security unless this is due to our negligence or wilful default.
Any financial transactions will be done via a secure and encoded server.
Any data held on computers is password protected.
Through the Roof will not pass on any personal information, including email addresses and telephone numbers for example, to any third party without your express consent obtained in advance.

General

You have the right to see personal data (as defined under the Data Protection Act) that we keep about you upon receipt of a written request and payment of a fee of £10.
